Norman Island
Former pirate hideaway & party stop
Norman Island is one of the most popular stops in the BVI. It is a short, six mile crossing from either West End or Road Town, Tortola.
Norman Island is shown in the distance.
It is often a first or last night’s destination for charter boats. Norman Island carries the mystique of being a former pirate hideaway at The Caves on Treasure Point. Today, the pirate spirit continues with Norman Island being a party stop for many that visit the BVI.

anchored in the bay.
One can join in the fun by anchoring in The Bight for an evening and visiting either Pirates restaurant on the beach or the WILLIAM THORNTON, a floating restaurant and bar anchored in the bay.
The anchorage has mooring balls for scores of boats and can be crowded. For those desiring solitude, Norman Island offers several other anchorages to choose from such as Benures Bay or Soldier Bay on the north coast; Privateer Bay along the west side and Money Bay in Windward Sound to the south.
