Redhook Bay
This is a very busy ferry landing that can set up an anchorage roll.
The car and truck ferry leaving Redhook for St. John.
Muller Bay is easy to spot because there are conspicuous pink resort buildings with red roofs on the beach. If fuel and water are not needed, it is recommended that you drop the hook in Muller Bay even though it is rolly due to ferry wakes.
Vessup Bay is most often chock-a-block with anchored boats and finding anchoring room there is tough. Anchor in 20 feet of muddy sand or call ahead on VHF16, or by cell phone to IGY-American Yacht Harbor Marina, and reserve a slip.
Keep an eye out for fish traps when entering Redhook.
